Residency Terms & FAQs

1. Application

Applicants must submit a completed registration form, along with any required work samples or supporting documents.
There is no selection process, because we want the residency to be accessible to anyone who will benefit from attending.

2. Fees & Payment

A non-refundable deposit (or full fee, if applicable) is required to confirm your spot.
Payment deadlines will be clearly communicated, and the deposit is non-refundable one month before the residency. . Failure to meet the deadline may result in forfeiture of your place.

3. Cancellation & Refund Policy

If you choose to withdraw after confirming your participation, please notify us as soon as possible.
Please note: If you cancel your spot with less than a month’s notice, including up to one or two weeks before your start date, you are required to pay the full residency amount.

4. Code of Conduct

We expect all residents to uphold a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative environment.
Discrimination, harassment, or any form of disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated and may lead to dismissal without refund.

5. Use of Work & Documentation

We may document and share excerpts from your residency experience for promotional and archival purposes.
All intellectual property remains solely with the artist unless explicitly agreed upon.

6. Facilities & Responsibilities

Details of accommodation, meals, studio/workspace, and materials will be shared upon confirmation.
Residents are responsible for their own travel arrangements, personal expenses, and any special materials they may require.

Q: Who is this residency for?
A: This residency is open to poets at any stage of their creative journey, who are looking for space, time, and community to focus on their work and hone their skills.

Q: What’s included in the residency fee?
A: Fees typically cover accommodation, meals, access to creative spaces, curated workshops, and select materials. A detailed breakdown will be provided upon acceptance.

Q: Can I get a refund if I can’t attend after paying?
A: Unfortunately, we are unable to offer refunds, as your payment secures your spot and covers costs we begin incurring immediately. Please consider this carefully before committing.

Q: Can I arrive late or leave early?
A: The residency is designed as an immersive experience. While we understand that life happens, partial attendance is discouraged and may affect your participation in workshops or final showcases.

Q: Will I have time to work on my own writing?
A: Absolutely. The residency is structured to offer both guided sessions and unstructured personal time.

Q: Is this a competitive or judgmental space?
A: Not at all. We prioritize a nurturing, process-oriented environment over performance pressure. It’s a space to explore, reflect, and connect — not compete.

Q: Is financial aid or a scholarship available?
A: We’re working toward making future editions more accessible but do not have the resources to do this at the moment.
