Welcome to The Poetry Retreat - a unique residency designed for poets from anywhere in the world and at any stage of their poetry journey.

​The idea is to retreat from the cacophony of life and allow yourself the space and quiet to write - to share your words with peers who are on a similar journey as you and lastly to receive feedback and guidance from mentors who have years of expertise.
​
The residency is located in a quiet village in South Goa where noise is bird calls, roosters crowing, monkeys swinging from tree to tree and the errant coconut falling somewhere.
Poets will be housed in small resort - a property that is run by a Goan family, has a pool and is a 10-min walk to the beach.
This is an immersive residency program designed to give poets all the tools they need to understand the nuances of poetry, how to write for the page and performance, how to edit poetry, how to publish and put your work out there, and finally how to become a poem.

The residency is open to 8 poets from around the world. You could have just started writing/performing poetry or you could be working on a collection of poems that you hope to publish. Or maybe you need to be inspired to write again.
The curriculum includes one-on-one feedback from facilitators, extensive workshops and performance exercises to help you explore your poetic voice.
The residency covers food and accommodation for 5 nights and 6 days. We have worked very hard at making sure that this residency is rewarding highly engaging.

Cost of the Residency:

Rs 55,000/- incl GST for Indian residents.

USD 700/- incl GST for International poets.
A deposit of 22,000 INR or 250 USD will have to be paid to reserve a spot.
*The balance amount will have to be paid by 15th May. 100% of the deposit is retained if the booking is cancelled after 15th May.If you need to avail of a payment plan - a deposit of 22,000 INR or 250 USD will have to be paid to reserve a spot.
Accommodation at the Residency:
Each poet will be housed in a private room with a King size bed, writing desk and balcony.
The resort has a pool, and is a 10-minute walk to Velsao Beach.
*Attendance is on a first come, first serve basis. Last date for registration is 10 May 2025.
